Kite

Hosted Kite

Kite's own testnet and mainnet instances, for businesses that would rather not run a server.

Kite runs two instances of its server for businesses to use directly. They have the same dashboard, checkout and API as a server you run yourself, with Kite operating the chains and paying you out.

InstanceAddressFor
Testnethttps://testnet.usekite.siteTrying Kite and building your integration, with test tokens.
Mainnethttps://mainnet.usekite.siteTaking real payments.

You sign in to an instance once you have an account on it. Each instance is separate: an app, its API keys and its webhooks on testnet don't exist on mainnet, so you set them up again when you move over.

Start on testnet

The testnet instance only offers test networks, and test tokens can never pay a payment link on mainnet. Use it to:

  1. Create an app, a payment link and an API key.
  2. Pay the link with test tokens, from a wallet or by sending to the address on the checkout.
  3. Point a webhook at your backend and check it fulfils the order when the transfer settles.

When that works end to end, repeat the setup on mainnet and switch your backend's base URL and keys.

Getting paid

Customers pay in any token the instance supports. Every payment settles in USDC, which Kite holds and pays out to you on your settlement schedule.

This is the difference from running your own server, where each payment settles straight to a wallet you set. See How Kite works.

Pricing

The hosted instances charge 1.5% of each payment, never more than $10. Current pricing is always on usekite.site.

Using the API

Point the SDK or your own client at the instance's address:

import { Kite } from "@kite-01/sdk";

export const kite = new Kite({
  baseUrl: "https://testnet.usekite.site",
  auth: {
    apiKeyId: process.env.KITE_API_KEY_ID!,
    privateKey: process.env.KITE_PRIVATE_KEY!,
  },
});

Checkout pages are on the same address, at /pay/<payment link id>.
